ECOS conference on Circularity in Construction
Our conference will explore how the construction sector can deliver the ambition of the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan. The event will bring together a wide range of industry and environmental stakeholders to discuss current challenges and identify policies, laws and standards that can transform the construction sector from an environmental problem to part of the solution.
What’s on the agenda?
The event will kick off with a welcome lunch at noon, followed by a keynote speech. We will then focus on two interactive panels:
>> Building Blocks for a “Sustainable Built Environment”
Greater circularity for existing buildings and new constructions is key to achieving a more sustainable built environment, but are current strategic commitments enough to deliver a true transformation of the sector?
The panellists will discuss if the foreseen policy framework is ambitious enough and what sectoral changes will be key to ensure EU and global climate commitments under the Paris agreement are met.
>> A kiss of life for the CPR
We will discuss which direction the Construction Products Regulation review process should take to support greater circularity in the sector, and how the revision can boost a better recognition of the environmental impact of construction products.
The panellists will explore regulatory requirements and standardisation needs, crucial in the context of the EU sustainable product policy framework.
We will finish the day with a networking cocktail!
